Ways to learn with us
Full package, for complete beginners
Three weeks, five days a week — fifteen practical sessions, plus theory, mock testing, the IOV test and your permit. Everything from the first lesson to collecting the card. From UGX 650,000.
Driving lessons only
Instruction and vehicle time, no paperwork. For drivers who already hold a permit, want practice before a test, or simply want to learn without pursuing a permit right now. UGX 100,000 per week, five days.
Weekend classes
Saturday and Sunday, the same syllabus as our weekday course, charged per session so you only pay for what you take. UGX 50,000 per session.
Evening classes
After work, at a time agreed with your instructor. UGX 40,000 per session.
Short time sessions
Travelling soon, or on a deadline? We compress the syllabus into a shorter period with more frequent lessons. Call for a quote, since the fee depends on how fast you need to finish.
Manual or automatic?
We teach both. Most learners in Uganda train on manual, because a manual permit lets you drive either. Automatic is quicker to learn but narrows what you can drive afterwards — worth thinking about if you might drive commercially, or borrow a friend's car.
What a course actually covers
- Vehicle control: clutch, gears, steering, smooth braking
- Moving off and stopping, including hill starts
- Road positioning, lane discipline and observation
- Junctions, roundabouts and right of way in live traffic
- Parking, reversing and turning in a confined space
- Hazard awareness: following distance, bodas, pedestrians, night driving
- Highway code, road signs and markings
Our vehicles
Every training car carries the Limtai livery and the "Driver Under Instructions" roof sign, so other road users can see a learner is at the wheel and give you room. It is a small thing that makes your first weeks on the road considerably less frightening.
